Well today I had my must anticipated day off. To make it even better, Justin had it off as well. So we started our day at about 10:30 with making some yummy breakfast on our new skillet. It was a wedding present, that we hadn't had time to use it yet. We were in the process of making hashbrowns and bacon, and watching Harry Potter 2, when we heard a strange noise. Justin said, "is that the fire alarm?" Sure enough, I opened our door and was deafened by the blaring siren of the fire alarm. I was slightly disturbed that we couldn't hear it very well with the door closed, what if there was a fire at night? I sleep very soundly, I'm not sure if i would wake up. So anyways we turned off and unplugged out skillet quickly and i grabbed out cat carrier and we threw Simon in, which he protested greatly. We hurried out of the building, and i was also disturbed with the fact that no one else was outside. While heading out of the building we could not smell anything, so I was sure it was a false alarm. True enough, there were carpenters on the 2nd floor working inside an apt and somehow set the alarm off. Why weren't there anyone else outside? It was a Monday, so i suppose most people at work, but we couldn't have been the only people at home? I think it's very dangerous to assume it's just a false alarm and just stay in because it's cold.
Well other news, today Justin and I bought our own car insurance. Another big step in married life accomplished. We also got renters insurance because if we purchased some other insurance along with our cars' we would get a 10% discount on the car insurance. So now I do feel better knowing that if something happened to our apt, most of it can be repaid.
I also finally got some coffee for my espresso machine, we went to Cash wise and got some organic coffee that i had tried at Britta's. So I was excited to get home and finally try out my espresso machine, it was really good, so I'm thinking of making some before I go to work tomorrow and drink it on my way. Lord knows I could use an energy boost at 5am.
Last night we had quite a surprise. We were watching TV and we heard some booming noises outside. We at first thought it was thunder because storms were suppose to go through the area. Justin went out onto the balcony, and told me to come out and see something. Somewhere out in West Fargo a professional fireworks show was going on. It was absolutely beautiful to watch, it lasted maybe 20 min. I don't know what it was for, but it was a nice treat.
