Rent, Muggles and W. oh my!

Last night I saw the Broadway musical Rent, at the Fargo Dome. Now I'm not really sure why I never mentioned it before, since I've known about it for like 5 months but anyways.. Rent was amazing like usual, this time I had the soundtrack memorized so I could sing along. Ok I wasn't singing I was moving my lips. It was fabulous to see it again. We were on the floor close to the stage so we could see everything really well. Angel of course was just amazing, I love his outfits. Two hours of Broadway bliss.... it was awesome!
In the parking lot of the dome I noticed at mini-van and it had personalized plates the said "Muggles," now I just thought that was so cool. I just wish I could have seen the people driving the van. I would have never thought of that, but I'm not sure I want to appear that obsessive about something. Sure my car is named after a dinosaur..but it's a little more subtle.
In efforts to push his new social security plan Pres. Bush was in town this morning, and on our campus no less. Thank goodness we don't have class at NDSU on Thursdays. Of course all major roads that the motorcade might ever travel on was shut down. Again thankfully, we were no where near these roads. This is such a red state, 7000+ tickets sold out in 90 min. Unbelievable. Also the Fargo Forum got ahold of a list of 40+ people that were not allowed to purchase tickets to watch the speech. Some of these people had written anti-bush or pro-gay opinions. Two were high school students who are on democrat-type e-mail lists. I was just amazed when I heard this. So much for democracy.

Yeah, one of the things that was a discussion during the 2004 campaign was the fact that Bush made you sign "loyalty cards" and Kerry would let anyone in, whether you liked him or not.

Yes, that "muggles" plate is simultaneously cool and creepy. I like Harry Potter a lot, but I wouldn't get a plate that says "QWDITCH" (quidditch) and drive around town! That's taking it a bit too far!

David, Rent is worth the cost..if it comes to your area, see it! Kate, yes that was me that went with you and Irene. Donna, Angel is my favorite character. I just love his outfits. I could not believe how skinny the person playing Angel was however. He had no hips, no waist, no butt..for the encore he came out in jeans and a tight shirt and it was just amazing to see that kind of figure on a guy.
