Lost

OH MY! I did not enjoy the ending of this show at all, Justin told me that they were going to kill a major character but boy it was painful to watch. Locke is finally starting to freak me out, I could not believe how much him and Boone had dug around that huge container thing. What is it anyways? I assumed that it was like a plane or something, but it looks like..well a container. I wonder why the "island powers" decided to have Locke lose the ability to move his legs? Was it so that Boone would go up there? If Locke wasn't in that condition, he would have gone up there. After that crash, I'm sure even Sayid wouldn't be able to get that radio working again. Speaking of, that was awesome how he fashioned those glasses for Sawyer. Ha ha he looked so hilarious in those glasses, what did Hurley say he looked like? Something to the effect of a messed up Harry Potter. Boy, Boone is in tough shape. I don't think the doc is going to be able to get save him. Did anyone else freak out when that light came on for Locke? Wow, what was that all about, did it take Locke sacrificing someone to get the damn thing to do something? I tell you what, after all that and then some light appears, I don't think I'd want that thing opened.

You might want to skip this part because this is stuff Justin told me that he has found on Dark Horizons. Locke gets it open, and crazy stuff starts to happen. The "island powers" start messing with everyone's head. Next season, is suppose to be really psychological, the island messing with people. Well, I suppose that's all pretty obvious. There is no way that Locke would come this far, and not finish getting that thing open. This island stuff is already messing with people too.

Next week looks crazy. The doc is trying to save Boone and Claire starts having a baby. Yikes.

Hanford: These are nuclear submarine reactor cores. This pit is full of them. The core reactor has been taken out so their not radioactive. The reason they are not buried is that the US has an agreement with Russia to beable to prove that we're decomishing submarines. They had to be on the surface so the Russians could fly over and see we're holding up our part of the deal. Posted by Hello

Hanford: this is one of the Plutonium plants. It's shut down, but it's such a sensitive building, that there were tan SUV's watching us while our tour guide was talking about the plant. Posted by Hello

Here are some more petroglyphs at Ginko Petrified Forest State Park. I just love the animals and symbols, they are just beautiful. Posted by Hello

This is a petroglyph from Ginko Petrified Forest State Park. These petroglyphs were found before the damming of the Columbia River, they were removed and brought to this park. I really liked this one, because I think it looks like a man and woman holding a little baby inbetween them. Posted by Hello

Justin at Dry Falls. I would post a picture of the both of us but i'm blinking in every dang one.  Posted by Hello

This is Dry Falls. The cliffs you see used to be waterfalls as a result of the huge glacial floods that flooded this whole easten WA area. There was so much water flowing through this area that there was actually no water falling off the cliffs the water had filled this entire area up to the lip of the cliff. Posted by Hello

Here's the coin operated "massaging bed." Oh lord I laughed for a good few minuets after seeing this. Posted by Hello

These small hills that you see in the back ground (not the dark hills way in the back) are mega ripple marks. There was a huge flood as a result of the Glacial Lake Missoula bursting open. Now just think of the ripple marks you see at the beach or in the river. Absolutly amazing. Posted by Hello

Spring Break

So, we're back from Spring Break. I had a wonderful time, and hopefully not to radiated. I guess the first highlight of the trip was the one-star hotel that we stayed at when we got to Spokane. One star, I think that rating was even pushing it. This place was a dive, now I don't mean just that it was need of repair and was just old, this place was scary. Everything in our rooms were stained or had cigarette holes. The pressure on the shower was so high, it was painful. The sinks backed up with the slightest use. At least ours reeked of smoke. But I think the most humorous thing of the rooms was the vibrating bed option. On the nightstand was a little coin operated bed vibrator contraption. I took a pic and will post it. I was very glad to leave that place the next day, it was very seedy and I don't even want to know what sort of illegal things probably take place there.
During the week we saw amazing geological processes that were impossible to comprehend the huge scale in which they existed. I think of explaining it all here, I'll post pics and explain what's going on.
A big highlight for the week was that we got to go to Hanford, the nuclear plant. It's extremely hard to get groups in for tours anymore, thankfully our professors got contacts. It was absolutely amazing to see what the government did during WWII in the name of "national security." Two towns were shut down, to make this facility acres of prime orchard and farm land ripped out, almost any trace of the two towns were completely destroyed. Chemicals were just dumped onto the ground when all the containers were full. All these chemicals came from the plutonium plants, some of the plutonium created went into either Fat Man or Little Boy, the two bombs that ended WWII. So now all the plants are shut down, and the whole site is in remediation. They big problem is trying to stop the chemical plumes from reaching the Columbia River.
I'll write some more stories later.

Getting ready to go

Well we're leaving tonight. This is now where I start getting nervous, especially since we are camping oh I hope we have everything. I think all our bags are packed, and Justin is finishing up his presentation poster so then we can run to Office Max and get them laminated. I hope our train is on time. It will be absolute hell to sit in that train station for more than an hour. Justin for some crazy reason, volunteered us to drive one of the cargo mini-vans. Well actually he'll be driving, so I'll be the co-pilot. We're bringing our Ipods and our car adaptor for it so at least we'll be listening to some good tunes. Well wish us luck. Will be back next Sunday.

Spring Break

Next week is our Spring Break, hurray! This year Justin and I are going on the geology departments trip to Eastern Washington. Almost ever year the department has a spring break trip but usually they are too expensive for me. This year I decided to go because 1) It's in Washington 2) It's a cheap trip ($300) and 3)This is my last year at NDSU and all my friends from the dept are going. We are taking the Amtrak out which in itself should be an adventure. We leave this Friday night/Saturday morning however you like to look at at, Saturday at 3:50am. We arrive in Spokane, WA. at about 1am Sunday. We will crash at a "one star hotel" our professor told us we would be probably safer in our sleeping bags then the beds. Gross. Anyways so we crash for the night there then camp the whole rest of the week. We do get two nights at a KOA, and those are always nice and have showers. After that showers are iffy. At least if all go without showers then we'll all be stinky so it won't be so bad somehow. We get to go to Hanford, Washington's infamous powerplant. I guess we even get to take pictures, which really surprised me. I thought after all this Homeland Security stuff, there would be no way we'd get pictures, but we won't be shown any of the sensitive stuff anyways. But we will get to see the major contamination areas (from a distance thankfully) and probably some nuclear submarine cores which would be sweet.
Justin and I will take lots of pictures (hopefully not all of rocks so I won't bore you all to death) and will be posted hopefully right after the trip. We get back to Fargo, Sunday morning at like 2am the following week.

Emma

My friend Jeni just sent me another round pictures of her daughter Emma. As you can see, she is the cutest baby ever. I know everyone says that about their own child, and since I don't have one, she is the cutest baby ever...until I have my own of course. Rayna, you met her and I think you can vouch on her cuteness, even if you can't say she's the cutest. In these pictures she should be between 7 and 8 months old.

Now this girl has style. She is just owning those sunglasses. Posted by Hello

Every child need at least one naked picture, to humilate them with later in life.  Posted by Hello

Lost

Ok, I'm sick and tired so I'll make this brief and will chat more about the show tomarow.
That was crazy how Hurely won the lotto. But I was wondering how did he know the guy in the institute, did he stay there? He made some reference while talking to the tv crew about putting his family through some stuff recently, so maybe he had some kinda breakdown. It was strange how Hurely and the french woman had that bonding moment. Syid (sorry blanking on how the spell his name) was scared to death of her and Hurely had no fear. But then again he didn't get tortured by her.
Ok off to bed.

Ugh

Ugh, this is how I've now been feeling for two days. On top of this lovely infection, I also now have a cold. I skipped my last class yesterday, and my only one today because I feel like absolute crap and also Justin is in those classes so he took notes. I hope I'll have enough energy to get up and to class tomorrow. I'm sorry that I'm complaining. I think Justin went to work early today so he could get away from my sneezing and sniffling. Well, back to relaxing on the couch!
