Spring Break

Next week is our Spring Break, hurray! This year Justin and I are going on the geology departments trip to Eastern Washington. Almost ever year the department has a spring break trip but usually they are too expensive for me. This year I decided to go because 1) It's in Washington 2) It's a cheap trip ($300) and 3)This is my last year at NDSU and all my friends from the dept are going. We are taking the Amtrak out which in itself should be an adventure. We leave this Friday night/Saturday morning however you like to look at at, Saturday at 3:50am. We arrive in Spokane, WA. at about 1am Sunday. We will crash at a "one star hotel" our professor told us we would be probably safer in our sleeping bags then the beds. Gross. Anyways so we crash for the night there then camp the whole rest of the week. We do get two nights at a KOA, and those are always nice and have showers. After that showers are iffy. At least if all go without showers then we'll all be stinky so it won't be so bad somehow. We get to go to Hanford, Washington's infamous powerplant. I guess we even get to take pictures, which really surprised me. I thought after all this Homeland Security stuff, there would be no way we'd get pictures, but we won't be shown any of the sensitive stuff anyways. But we will get to see the major contamination areas (from a distance thankfully) and probably some nuclear submarine cores which would be sweet.
Justin and I will take lots of pictures (hopefully not all of rocks so I won't bore you all to death) and will be posted hopefully right after the trip. We get back to Fargo, Sunday morning at like 2am the following week.
