Hello Everyone!
After three long days of driving we finally arrived at our apartment complex on Friday. Because of the extreme heat we could only unload in the mornings so we finished unloading the U-Haul on Sunday, the heat has been outrageous here, even for Las Vegas, we have been getting record breaking highs of up to 120. I guess this is heat that is usually in August but the monsoons have been staying in Mexico instead of traveling up here.
Our internet got turned on today and our cable TV yesterday. We are all almost unpacked but Justin and I have lots of totes that have to go into storage so those are on the balcony at the moment. Justin and Sarah are now on their 2nd days of work and both are liking their jobs. Ryan went in today for an interview at Sarah's work place so hopefully that goes well. There is a job opening at Justin's work place for a geologist so I need to find my pen drive and pull up my resume and get to finishing that.
Simon is finally adjusting to the new place. He has had a lot of stress with the move and he is finally getting brave enough to wander around the apartment and is finding his lounging spots, he really likes the window seat in our computer/guest room.
Rayna, did you know that we are only like 4 hours apart now? I think that's pretty exciting.
Well things to do, lunch to eat, Later!

That's funny: I was just telling Donna something to that effect several days ago. APSA (it's a political science professional org), will sometimes have conferences in Vegas. Yes, that's right, someone thought it would be good to ply an anti-social bunch with alcohol and send them to the nearest slot machine--has disaster written all over it from the stories I've heard. Anyway, I'll let you know in the spring if they have another conference there. I'm certainly not envious of the weather though. I'm melting here, and it's not even 90.
I can already tell that I am getting used to the heat. This morning Ryan and I went to Target while it was still cool. Cool meaning 95.
Yeah, one does start to adapt. When it gets to 60 I start pulling out the wool coats and sipping hot cocoa. But you've mastered it in record time. I've been in Hades two years and still can't get used to this dreadful constant sunshine! I'm off to take a dip in my personal-sized swimming pool (aka a bathtub filled with cold water).
It is so cool that you live in Vegas now. The heat doesn't sound fun though, I can barely tolerate it when it reaches 95 here, but Germany has not heard of AC so that might make it worse. I always hear that you are susposed to get used to your environment...well I never seem to. More power to you stefi for adjusting!
:) Kate
