Busy, Busy!!

Once again we've got acouple of weekends coming up where we'll be swamped doing fun things so hopefully we'll take pictures along the way so I can post them when the crazyness dies down again.
This Saturday is the Vegoose festival, actually it's all weekend but we just bought Saturday tickets cause thats when everyone we want to see is performing. We'll be seeing The Killers, Tom Petty, Damion Marley, and The Racatours. They have a Little White Chapel there where you can get "married." Justin and i didn't do it last year but I think we're going to have to this year. They have a front of a chapel, you stand in front of the doors and the drunk priest marries you, then a music legend (Elvis, Ozzy, or Tina Turner) come out and sing a song as your first dance. It's awsome. Some co-workers are going so we'll have to have them come to our wedding and have them take pics.
Next weekend, Nov 2-6, we're flying to Chicago for my Birthday! We'll stay with Justin's parents and hang out with his friends, shop, and see King Tut at the Field Museum.
So hopefully between then and Thanksgiving I can post pics and talk about our fun times, then when Thanksgiving comes around we're going to San Jose to our friends place for turkey day with thier family then we'll be taking off the next day and driving to Lake Tahoe for the weekend! Busy, busy!!

Lost

Ok sorry I forgot about last week. I saw the episode but had been working crazy hours so my motivation was zero.
This epi was really painful to watch..poor Sawyer. He got the crap kicked out of him several times, thought he had an exploding pace maker in his chest (I knew they were bluffing), I'm surprised that Ben told him so quickly that he was conned.
So what the hell, there's two islands!? And I don't remember when this was in the show but did Ben mention a submarine? How in the heck do the others get back and forth between the islands so quickly. I mean they had that whole fake village set up, they just seem like they are constantly on "our" island harrasing our group. And where the heck are all the ppl that got taken from the Tallies? Where are the kids? Ugh i'm so frusterated.

Lost!

It looks like Jack might turn to the dark side over a game of Baseball? And I thought he was stronger than that, but I guess that's only when he thinks he can fix a person/situation.
I wasn't really surprised that they had security camera's on Sawyer and Kate, but I'm sure those two figure it out soon when they try some escape stunt. The best line came from Kate "you taste like a fishbiscut" Oh man I was rolling after that line, usually Hurley's got the best line.
I liked the Sun flashbacks, I was surprised that she would actually cheat on Jin, I mean I know she wanted to leave him but if only Jin knew what her father was really talking about when he wanted Jin to restore the "family honor."
I'm sorry this is really short but I just worked 11 hours today and I'm really tired.

LOST!!!

Hurry! Lost has once again come back into our lives!
Ok, was that not the most messed up intro ever? Here I thought this bookclub was taking place in sububia somewhere and this is how the Others live! Our group is living on a beach in shelters made out of aircraft and they have a fricken village.
I'm guessing that the lady is messin with Jack first because he's the strongest and the leader of the group and they plan on breaking all three into submission one way or another.
I was really bored with Jack's flashback...for a season opener I was disappointed and I didn't really feel sorry for him at all. But I did feel sorry for him for having to be caged up in an aquarium, man that's messed up. Then of course having sawyer doing animal intelligence tests to get some kibble and a fish cookie...that was just painful, yet kinda funny to watch him do his happy dance waiting I'm sure for a cheeseburger to come out of the shoot.
Well we know at least that everyone in the Others village doesn't conform to "Henry Gale" and his rules, I wonder what that poor kid did to get locked up in that other cage. Henry's real name was said at the end, was it Ben?

The last month

Whew! I'm sorry Rayna, I didn't know it had been that long since I'd last posted. Anyways so I've posted a bunch of pics showing off some of the things that we've been up too.
Our trip to Utah was great! We stopped in St. George, UT to see their dinosaur footprint trackways and man was that impressive! We took a lot of pics but they are kinda hard to see what's in the pic so I'm not going to bother. It only took us about 4 hours to get up to where were decided to camp for the weekend..in an RV park in Delta UT, lol. Ok so we weren't really "roughing it" but it was still camping. We did lots of mineral collecting during our trip and had a blast collecting trilobites, little sea creatures that lived long ago. We came back tired and with even more rocks/fossils to add to the garage shelves but we also came back to the "real world" relaxed and refreshed. It's amazing what a little geology can do for the soul lol.
This last Tuesday-Sunday, Justin's dad Dana and his bro Jason were in town for a firefighter/paramedic convention. Everynight the guys all would go out to some casino..and I would let them. Then everyday they were really tired and I was just fine, lol, I like my sleep too much. On Saturday we all went to Red Rock park because Jason hadn't been yet. We saw the gorgeous sites and took some pics. Then Sunday we grilled burgers for lunch on the patio and played Clue and Uno until it was time to take them to the airport.

In other news I'm totally addicted to a new show, Heroes. Did any of you see it? Then of course Lost starts up again on Wednesday!!

Here is Jason, Dana and Justin. Justin's dad and bro were in town this last week for the annual Emergency Medical Service Convention for paramedics and firefighters and this year it was in Las Vegas! So here the guys are at Red Rock.

Here is myself, Justin and Jason (Justin's bro) we are at Red Rock posing in the failed sandstone quarry. What a good looking group!

Here we are after a successful day looking for fabulous Trilobites. We had been hiking back and forth from the dig site to the car with several 5 gallon buckets full of trilobites, then there was the matter of trying to fit it all into an already cramped car full of camping gear but with some creative re-arranging we got it all in!

Ok, so Justin's not the best photographer but it's all I got here. So this is me in Utah and I am pointing to a lovely Trilobite that I had just found, it's the little circular thing just to the right of my finger. The whole trilobite species when extinct about 250 million years ago in the great Permian Extinction which killed 90% of all living things. (Exciting, I know) This guy that I have here is pretty early in the evolutionary chain of Trilobites but unfortunatly they guy working at the fossil site couldn't remember the age of the formation we're in...sigh.

Weekend Warriors

These next two weekends will be busy for Justin and I. This Labor Day weekend we're going up to Utah and we will be camping and rockhounding. We're headed to Topaz Mt. to collect..well topaz. BLM has set aside some land for public rock/mineral collecting and we're going to try our luck and hopefully find some really cool stuff. We even went out and bought a book on Topaz Mt. and how to find the highly sought after gems. We'll also be doing a little fossil hunting, unfortunately we're going to have to pay for it. For $30 a person we can collect as many trilobites as we can for 4 hours. You can see what a trilobite looks like by clicking on the link above. Basically they are a now extinct creature that lived on ocean beds, some could swim, and probably scavenged for food. They come in amazing array of shapes and sizes, the ones we can find at the site are tiny compared to what can be found in other countries but it will be fun to get dirty!
Now next weekend, on Thursday the 7th we're flying back to ND/MN to see our buddies Britta and Kris get married in Fargo, ND. We'll be back on the 11th so it will be a short trip back home but it will be fun but stressful trying to see as many people as possible.
Other than our busy weekends not too much going on. On the more distant horizon at the end of Sept we've got Justin's bro Jason and his dad Dana coming out to Vegas for the annual FireFighters Convention. Then in October my buddy Jeni and her boyfriend and their friend Serena are all coming out to celebrate Serena's b-day. Serena for her present wants to go see Thunder from Downunder, and so Jeni and I happily agreed. Justin just rolled his eyes.

A brush with Death!

Ok, so I'm exaggerating a bit in the title but yes, today I had what we call at my work "A Near Miss." So for my job, three days a week I'm out at a quarry that is being filled in. So this involves me watching 18-wheel trucks backing up to the edge of the quarry (which is 450 feet deep) and dumping their load of dirt onto the ground. I inspect the load quickly to determine that there is no garbage in the pile or that the dirt is contaminated with gasoline/oil. Eventually a bulldozer comes along and pushes these piles of dirt over the edge and into the pit. So lately the guy that has been operating the bulldozer has been getting really stressed with this job and it has been making him very difficult to work with this last week or two. Today he finally snapped. Yesterday he had a very bad day, he couldn't keep up with all the trucks coming in and got behind. Because of that I heard he got a major lecture this morning about keeping up. So this morning the guy was pissed that he was getting told how to do his job. He was tearing around the site, almost running into trucks, it was getting bad. So I went to a section were he wasn't so I could do my job in relative peace and quite. Sure enough, I wasn't in that spot for a half an hour before he starts hxzzzzzzzzzzz (lol sorry that was Ash trying to help me) heading my way. Ok, so I am standing behind a bunch of backed in18 wheelers with a 450 foot drop about 10 ft behind me. The bulldozer drives past the parked trucks and turns so the dozer is facing me about 20 feet away from me, then without giving me time to move somewhere else safely he just opens up and starts hauling toward me. To help with the size of this dozer, the blade on the front of it that pushes the material, is 10 feet high. If he hit me, he would never know. So I had to very quickly move inbetween the parked trucks to get out of the way of the crazy bulldozer.
So after being nearly flattened I go and tell the guy that in charge of this whole operation who then tells the safety people at the front of the plant. I was brought up to the safety trailer where I had to write out a statement explaining what happened, then I had to tell it to a few different people. They brought the bulldozer driver in later and fired him. He was being extremely reckless with a huge piece of equipment and they just couldn't have that.
Ugh and that was at about 9:30 this morning...if that doesn't ruin a day I don't know what would. So the whole rest of the day I was all stressed out and I just counted the hours, and when you're working a 10 hour day it goes real slow. But in the end, I'm in one piece still and that makes me happy.

Bodies

This last weekend, Justin's parents were in town and we did alot of the usual stuff; shop, eat (alot), gamble but this time we got to do something different Bodies the Exhibition. This exhibit was amazing, the cadavars are from China. From the news reports I believe they are people that have died in prisons/and or are people that died with no family. The exhibit shows you everything about the human anatomy, bones, muscles, nerves, organs all there on display on for you to see on both the body and dismantled in cases. My favorite area was the nerve room. Somehow these tiny, fragile nerves are taken out of the body then dyed and placed in little plastic blocks for us to see. Unfortunately pictures are not allowed in the exhibit, so it's hard to explain. Near the end, there was a fetus room. It was sad to see, but very interesting. They had little glass jars that ranged from just after conception to 16 weeks along. There was also a case that displayed birth defects. Don't worry, I won't get into it..but it was quite disturbing.

I was really surprised at how many people were there to see the exhibit. The exhibit caused quite the uproar when it was announced it was coming to Vegas. I found that funny. We're definitely a city of sin and overindulgence, god forbid we want an educational show..and on the Strip too!! This is a city where people want to legalize prostitution, but Oh No! We're going to show what people look like underneath the skin.

4th of July

The whole week of the 4th Justin and I are in Lake Tahoe. Yeah, I know..real tough. We're staying with our friends in their vacation house up on the mountain that overlooks the lake. So we spent the 4th on their boat cruising around, then at night watching the fabulous fireworks. Two days before that while we were boating, we actually swam in lake Tahoe. All Lake Tahoe is is melted snow water. Holy Cow it was cold, I lasted about 15 min before I was climbing back into the boat. So we head back Saturday or Sunday. In other news, this happened right up the street from where we are staying at.

So this is our new little buddy Ash. He was born on Feb 1, so that makes him just 5 mo old! Simon and him are good buddies now.

Our backyard with the inground jaccuzi!

The front of our rental house.

My beautiful new car. This pic was taken at Red Rock national park, just outside of Las Vegas.

Anniversary

Today is Justin and my 2nd Anniversary!! Unfortunately it landed on a Monday, so I think we're going to wait till Friday to do anything. We did have a really nice bbq last night, we popped open a bottle of wine relaxed on the patio, and Justin grilled up some good food (burgers and corn on the cob). Tonight we grilled up what we didn't eat last night, although Justin dropped his burger on the ground (he actually wanted to go inside and "wash it off" and keep grilling it), I finished off the wine because he has to work all night tonight so he couldn't drink.
Friday, I think we're going to my fav restaurant, Bucco de Beppos. It's a family style Italian place, there is one in Seattle kinda close to the Spaceneedle.
I can't believe it's been two years already. We've gone from struggling college students in Fargo, ND to having a good paying job in Las Vegas. Who knows what another two years will bring..MAYBE we'll be in Seattle =) We shall see.

Cliffnotes

OK so I have been very bad in writing anything for quite awhile now. So I'll give a quick run down of what's been going on and if you have any further questions just post them in the comments.

alright so two months ago now, both our roommates moved out of the apartment and moved back to ND, one got a better job offer at the place he had been working at before the move and the other got depressed and anorexic (went from a size 9 to a 0 in less than a year) and moved back home. Justin and I were tired of the apartment life so we broke the lease to the apartment and moved into a rental house that our co-workers Dad owns. So now we live in Las Vegas instead of Henderson, it's two story, three bedroom two and a half bath. The front yard is desert landscaping and the back yard has a small strip of grass with a concrete patio and a built in nat. gas grill and an in-ground jacuzzi!

Right before the move..when we didn't know about the roomies moving out, we decided to get me a new car. My poor Jetta just wans't going to last much longer esp in this heat. So I now have a 2006 VW GTI which is a very, very, fast hatchback. The color is 'black magic', it's got a sunroof and best of a Navigation system, I'll never be lost again!

About two weeks ago now we adopted a kitty! Simon needed a play pal, we would try to give him lots of attention but he was always moody. So the Petco's around here on the weekends have diff. no kill santuaries bring their animals in and Justin loved this particular kitty, he's half Siamese and half tabby. Justin named him Ash. He has a white Siamese color, then he has tabby stripes on top of his head and on his arms and legs and his tail is black with white stripes. I'll try to post a pic soon.

I think that's about it. I'll try to post more, but we bounce off someone else's internet and it doesn't always work. Later!

LOST

Whew! End of the season! That was a good episode. I was left content by the end of the show, unlike last season when I was screaming at the TV not knowing what's in the hatch.
This show was actually informative and it got things done, which I suppose it should since it was two hours. I can't believe that it was Desmond not pushing the button in time that created the plane to crash. That makes sense that all that electro-magnetic energy would bring it the plane in but damn that's a lot of energy.
So much happened during this episode, I don't even know where to start. I'm sure we'll be seeing Michael and Walt again. Desmond said he sailed for 2 and a half weeks West and he ended back at the island, there can be no way they will get off..they'll be back.
Desmond's story was amazing, I can't believe that Libby gave him the sailboat..and she died before they could run into eachother again..thats amazing and frustrating at the same time. Pen is still looking for Des, and by that last scene, perhaps found the island? My question is though...how would she even know to look for it..does she know about the Hanso Foundation and their Darma project?
I think the thing that totally blew me away during the whole show, what that HUGE foot along the coast. It was just as Sayid said "I don't know what's more disturbing, the fact that the rest of the statue is gone, or the fact that it only has four toes." Boy I sure hope they get back to that site, or maybe it will be just some weird feature on the island like the slave ship up in the mountains where they found the dynamite.

So what happened to Donna? Does she no longer have internet?

Also, sorry for my total lack of posting. I have been doing field work Tue-Thru from 2-10pm now and i'm exhausted most the time. I will try to write more!!

LOST

Sigh...why did Libby have to die before saying that Michael shot them? That last shot of Michael standing in Henry Gales place in the room was really creepy, Michael had a horrible expression on his face. That monitoring room that Echo and Locke found was really interesting. I'm kinda with locke that pushing the button is useless now but if Echo wants to keep doing it to appease his bro then thats fine.
Hmm sorry I'm tired so I can't think of anything else. I know more happened...next week looks interesting, Michael gets back to the Others and Sayid somehow figures out that Michael is one of them. Anyone know when the finally is? I assume it's the same week as Desperate Housewives which I think is in two weeks?

LOST

Holy Man, did anyone expect that ending? I guess that's what you get for drinking and driving huh? I was wondering if Michael was going to turn on them. I'm sure it's because of Walt, the Others have him and Michael thinks he will get him back if he turns over our friends. I did not believe for one second the whole speech of the Others having no guns, living in tents, being like animals. Whenever we saw them, they looked in a lot better shape than that. There is some debate on whether Libby is really dead, it looked like he got her in the stomach, even with Jacks gift of miracles it would be hard to come back from that. Beside how could anyone believe Michael that he's "one of them" if Libby is alive to say that he shot her? Looks like he shot himself in the shoulder so then he can let Henry escape then say the he got the best of Michael, Anna Lucia and LIbby.
Anna Lucia's flashback was really interesting. That just blew me away that she went to Australia with Jack's dad. I saw Sawyer, Jin and Jack in those flashbacks. I think that's a record for most Losties seen in a flashback. There is speculation that Jack and Claire and step-siblings, the house that the dad stopped at my have been Claires mother. But who knows right?

The Ocean

About three weeks ago we went to Newport Beach, CA for a little mini vaca. I hadn't been to the ocean in quite a few years, so it was high time to go see it again. It of course rained all the way across California, but the time we got to the coast it was all clear. We got a room across the street from the beach and it was dark already but that didn't stop me from at least going to the beach and listening to the surf. Next morning we went straight to the beach, we had a great time collecting sea shells, i was surprised to see that there were no sand dollars anywhere. We found awhole bunch of other shells that i have no idea what i'm going to do with, but i've got about 4 baggies worth. The rest of the day we went to nearby Balboa beach, got a room in a hotel that was built in the 20's. The room was tiny, barly got the bed and a stand for TV but the location was great and it was right in the middle of all the shops and restaraunts...and of course the beach. We spent the day shopping and laying in the sand. I of course forgot to put on the sunscreen and got a small burn. The temps were still pretty cool, in the upper 60's. We had on t-shirts and shorts and everyone else was wearing sweaters and pants.
That night we had a really good dinner at a pizza/micro brewery place right next to the hotel. They had a really good berry beer and excellent pizza.
Sunday we went to Ikea in Costa Mesa. I love Ikea and miss it very much. We didn't get anything but we got some really good idea. We're going to save up some $$ and go back in June, we need a new bed and a kitchen table, plus whatever else strikes our fancy.

LOST

This week's epi was O.K. The Rose and Bernard flashback was cool, I had just assumed that they had been married for years and not coming back from their honeymoon. Loved the last flashback though were Locke helps Rose..with him obviously in a wheel chair. To think all this time she's known and not told him.
Locke is losing faith in his Hatch. The smile that Henry had when locke was pounding on the door was really creepy.
Michael is back!! Although now I'm wondering if maybe this is a set up by the others. Maybe they are making him go to the camp and rally the troops for war..maybe they will do something to Walt if he doesn't. I can't trust anything in this show anymore. I get an idea on what I think is going on..and I end up being wrong. Maybe Michael is telling the truth..the others are outnumbered with little weapons. But I somehow doubt that...

In other news.. this weekend we're escaping Vegas and heading to the Ocean! I guess it will only take 4-5 hours to get there so we're leaving Friday early afternoon. We're dropping Simon off at the kitty hotel and we're going to soak in some rays. Have a good weekend!!

LOST

Hmm sorry, I blanked out about writing yesterday. We have really spotty internet connection at home, so that is why I have not been writing all that much.

This was a good Hurley episode, so we finally know why he was in the psych ward. He blames himself for the death of two people and he has an imaginary friend that now on the island. Hurley taking down Saywer was probably the funniest thing I'd seen in awhile. Sawyer very much so deserved that.
"Henry" finally admitted to being an other...I wonder how much longer he'll be alive.
Libby being in the same ward as Hurley at the end totally surprised me, she seems like such a well put together person. I wonder what put her in there?
Looks like next week Jack and Kate go out and try to bargain for Walt...yeah I'm sure that will happen.

LOST

What a good episode! Man, Henry Gale totally had me fooled, I really thought that was his balloon. He was even helped out Locke, but that must just to gain trust. Geeze that lockdown freaked me out. I can't believe that Dharma made a food drop..but I guess that explains the washer and dryer. So any ideas on the black light diagram on the lockdown door? The middle of the diagram had a big question mark so someone..maybe desmond..was trying to work something out? Justin thought maybe each circle represented a different hatch complex on the island that maybe lead to a central hatch???
During the Locke flashback, which was really sad like usual, the lockbox at the bank, it's number is 1516 which is two of Hurley's cursed numbers.
The poker game between Jack and Sawyer was sweet. Finally Jack got his precious meds back...it was funny how all epi he was trying to get down into the hatch and kept getting held up.
Next week looks good. Probably a Hurley flashback epi...or maybe Abbey? dunno but looks like Hurley is seeing things..which really isn't all that unusual on this island. Kate see's a black horse and Shannon and Sayid saw Walt. So whats the big deal...maybe thats why Hurley was in the psych ward..he saw things? We shall see!

LOST

Oh I'm so happy that Sun is pregnant. I wonder if the Others are going to try to kidnap her/her baby as well now. Perhaps not since that whole nursery hatch thing has been dismantled but I guess they can put it all back in as easily as they took it out.
Looks like from the previews to next week that the guy locked in the hatch is telling the truth about the balloon. I wonder what the 5 things that will shock us will be....who knows with this show.
Saywer finds the funniest books to read. I know it was a Judy Blume book...was it 'are you there god, it's me Margaret?' I know I read it..but I don't remember a thing from it.
Well beside Sun being pregnant..this was a pretty boring episode. I did like the awkward meeting of Sun and Hurely in the jungle..both trying to conceal something..and not doing very well at it.

It's Raining!

This morining I woke up to the sound of rain....and I didn't know what it was. Ha, can you tell I've been living in a desert. The rain is done now, which is good because driving is a pain out here when it rains. It's downpoured twice since I've lived here both right after we moved here. The ground here is so hard that rain doesn't soak in..it just flows along the surface..we live on top of a hill so seeing a full lane taken up by water roaring down the hill is quite a scene.

Hmm, in other news LOST is finally a new epi this week I believe, I'm seriously getting sick of these breaks.
Justin and I have already started looking for rental townhomes we found one that we like..double car garage, patio, large room, and will allow cats. When we move our we're getting another kitty, Simon needs a buddy that he can play with all the time. I think he gets really bored. OH well, time to go to work.

Lost

This epi I thought was good. I like Claire and it was really interesting to see what happened to her during those two weeks. Ryan pointed out that the guy Ethan was talking too in the hall, was also the guy that did the 'you stay on you side and we'll stay on ours' speech, and he was probably the main Gordon Fisherman.
By seeing how well off they had it in that hatch when Claire was there and then it disappearing is making me think that there is like a core group of 'others' who are apart of the Darma Initiative. Ethan and the other guy mentioned a mysterious Him, and he could be some leader for the Initiative.
I think it's pretty clear now that Danielle's daughter is still alive, and that she saved Claire shows that she not truly like the others.
I'm starting to think that the guy locked up in the hatch is an other. It just sounded like at the end that he was trying to drive a wedge between Locke and Jack. Next week or whenever they next have a new show, sounds like Anna Lucia goes looking for the Balloon. That story could be true. Maybe he and his wife came in on a Balloon, maybe she did get sick and die, but what if the Others found him then and now he's acting as a spy? I don't trust him.

Blasted cars!

My car is not fixed. As I was driving to work yesterday, at the same spot that the steam originally started up, my car started steaming again and it wasn't just alittle bit, my whole window was fogged by the time I got to the office. Looked at the coolant. Yup almost empty again. So filled it up again and called the shop and told them we were going to drop it off on the way home. So on my way to the shop at the end of they day, I thought the ride would go pretty smoothly since we had just filled her up. First off, I hit every red light between the office and the shop..7 lights, that never happens. Then when I'm at the 2nd to last light, my car starts steaming again, but not thru the vents but out of my hood! What looked like billows of steam pouring thru my hood, plus my temperature light started flashing, boy this can't be good. I finally get my car into the shop and parked. I tell the mechanic that has been working on my car what it was doing, he shook his head and said Oh Boy. Oh Boy? That coming from a mechanic cannot be good. Then he just had to mention that VW's are a pain...yeah just rub it in why don't ya.
So Justin came to pick me up and we went out to dinner at Red Robin and I got a fruity cocktail with lots of alcohol.
Thankfully we did find out that Justin's car problem is covered under the extended warranty that they got with the car, so at least we don't have to pay for that.

My Valentines

The blogger server was down when I wanted to talk about this, so thats why it's so late...it had nothing to do with my laziness.

For Valentines, I got a wonderful surprise. On the way to work, steam started coming thru the vents and the temperature light was flashing. Just Great. So I make it into our work parking lot, Justin and some much more mechanically inclined guys from work look it over. Basically, something that holds or carries antifreeze broke and thats what cause the steam. At the end of the day, Justin picked up some coolant and we filled the car up and on the way to our mechanic, of course it emptied out and my car started steaming again. Very, very stressful. I dropped it off right before they closed, so Wednesday morning they called and said they found the problem but it's going to take 3 days to get the part in and the total cost will be $400.
Well hopefully the part will come in tomorrow, then I can maybe get it on Sunday. Wouldn't that be nice. I am unfortunately thinking it won't be finished on Sunday, but I can always hope. So now we're down to Justin's car which is fine because he has a work truck he can use, but Justin's car needs to be fixed too. It's making this certain noise that when we describe it to people they know what it is tell us we need to get that fixed quick because if this part on the axel goes out. The car won't beable to turn. Great. So as soon as mine is fixed, Justin's will be going in. Ugh.

LOST

So I guess the big question is if the guy is lying or not? Sayid would be the one to know, but he does seem jaded from the death of Shannon. Sawyer is still pissing me off, now with trying to bully Hurley. Hurley should have never helped him, but I guess he's too nice.
I was so mad that the count down was stopped. But now we know that there are a few grace seconds built in there. One of the symbols on there looked like a bomb but couldn't tell from the rest.
Is next week a rerun again? Thats the way it looked to me. But we may finally know what happened to Claire when she was gone, and big surprise more Darma Initiative connections.

Update: Just found out this morning that in Sayid's flashback when he is in the US truck about to get dumped off. The girl in the picture is Kate.

LOST

HOLY SHIT!! This was probably the best episode of lost yet. Anyone else agree? I totally thought it was Anna Lucia that ambushed Sun, Argh but it was Charlie! Now anybit of like I had left for him is gone, pairing up with Sawyer, just to make a fool out of Locke. Oh man the way Sawyer played Locke and Jack was brilliant, I didn't like it but brilliant. Geeze, Donna how did you like that beginning shot of Sawyer in just his boxers, pretty nice. And Sayid all sweaty cracking those coconuts...that was very nice. Yum.
I just can't believe all the backstabbing and mistrust that everyone has now. This is going tear the whole group up. Next week, they find an injured Other? and Sayid is back to his Republican guard tricks again...thought he promised he would never do it again. But I guess extreme times call for extreme measures. Awesome episode!

Winters over

Well I think winter is officially over here in Las Vegas, temps might be hitting 70 soon. I think I wore sweaters for maybe a month. As much as I am used to hating winters I think winters in Las Vegas are pretty sweet, they give us a good break from the heat but it doesn't get cold enough to break out the gloves and scarves. From what I have heard, this winter has been extremely warm and very dry which is a scary comment since we are in a desert. Lake Mead is already +100 below it's normal level, and now our "rainy" season had no rain. There are some mountains around us that are high enough to get snow, but even there the ski resort is creating snow. I fear that this summer will be a scorcher.

In other news. Our entire apartment is sick. Ryan brought it in, then Sarah got it, then I started getting it Sunday night and now Justin's got it. Justin and I went to work this morning but we left by 9 because we were feeling so lousy plus our boss practically told us to leave because he didn't want us to spread it. I have some field work to do tomorrow morning, so hopefully I feel good enough to get that done.

LOST

Well first I started disliking Charlie and now I'm starting really not like Locke. Locke had a lot of nerve to confront Charlie about using heroin when all last season he used Boone, and we all know how that ended. Now he has Charlies heroin, and all the guns locked with his own combo. Charlie's dreams were bizarre, I wonder if they are true warnings or just him wanting to save somebody. Looks like there no new episode next week. Figures get a couple new ones in then go for another month of reruns. Sorry I'm tried, so not much to say on this episode except it wasn't the greatest...but did like the laundry scene with Hurley and Libby. For a sec I thought Libby was putting on some of Shannon's clothes...I think Hurley has a shot with Libby.

Taking one for the team

Miss Nevada, who was in the running for Miss USA this weekend in Las Vegas stirred up some controversy with her views of the Yucca Mtn depository of nuclear waste. Here is the Link to the story. The judges asked her what she thought of the Yucca Mtn nuclear waste site and what how she would feel if there were deaths associated with the site, and she said that Nevada would have to "take one for the team."
Wow. This site is well into construction and as you can probably imagine, in very fierce debate. I thought it was great what she said..basically it was suck it up and deal with it. I did a speech about Yucca Mtn for speech class, and from what I got out of it was that even if the toxic waste containers leaked, it would take thousands of years to make it to any water source. I'm not worried, I guess my feelings are along the same line as her's. It's gotta go somewhere...so just live with it.

Pictures!

Just got my disposible camera developed today..thought I would share some of my favorites.

Myself, Alyssa (middle) and Peggy (right) all gussied up for the party on the last night of our dino convention.

Sweet cliff dwellings in Arizona. This place was amazing..to think the native people made those buildings with materials hauled up ladders and very simple technology. Just blew me away.

Justin and I at Vegoose, Halloween weekend.

Justin at Vegoose. I bought the cute cowgirl hat there and I think it looks pretty good on Justin as well.

Lost

Well tonight's episode was exciting. The face-off with the others was intense, but stupid Kate had to go and mess the whole thing up. But even if she didn't follow them, I'm sure they would have ended up going back without Walt or Michael.
So sounds like Jack wants to make an army. I wonder how many others there are. Any idea how many there were in the torch ring? The others would have the home team advantage if our people attacked. It will be interesting to see what happens with that. Next week look suspenseful..looks like Charlie messes up big time, Aaron gets taken and stuff gets caught on fire at their camp. Looks like war might be on.

LOST

Any ideas on the crazy smoke monster thing? That was bizarre, even if thats the islands security system, what in the world could make smoke behave like that.
Echo's story was sad. But they all are. I can't believe that Charlie has that secret stash of herion, I'm glad Claire kicked him out.

The Holiday's

Christmas went well for us. We just sat around the apartment, opened presents in the morning then the rest of the day we ate and watched movies. For New Years, Justin's parents came to town, they stayed with us during the weekend then stayed at the Excalibur Sunday and Monday night. We did a lot of shopping and gambling, both of which can be dangerous. I learned the joys of penny slots. I do not like gambling. I figure that I work hard earning my money so why should I give it to somebody who's already rich? But penny slots, that's less damage to the pocket..$20 can be a couple hours of entertainment. Penny slots are also really fun games with animated bonus rounds and fun themes.
For New Years we were at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino which is thankfully off the Strip a bit because on New Years the Strip is shut down from about 6pm to about 2am. At the Hard Rock we saw Match Box 20 in The Joint theater. This was their first concert back as MB20, now that they are all done with their solo projects. We were in about the 30th row so I could see Rob Thomas and the rest of the band perfectly. Debbi and I rocked out the entire concert singing and dancing to everysong. Justin and Dana just stood there bobbing their heads. It was a great concert.
So now the holiday's are sadly over and I don't think we get a day off for quite sometime. Justin finally got his Xbox 360. We have been both playing it whenever we get some free time. Of course now Justin is hounding me to get a HD TV, since the 360 is compatible with the HD's.
We went to the movie's this weekend and saw The Ringer, which was hilarious. It's about a man and his uncle who decide to rig the Special Olympics so they can pay off their debts.
Can't wait to see the new episode of Lost, does anyone know if both episodes they are showing are new or just the second epi? I can't really tell from the commercials.
